MUSINGS - Don't miss the tension!

"The LORD shall ransom Jacob,
he shall redeem him from the hand of his conqueror.
Shouting, they shall mount the heights of Zion,
they shall come streaming to the LORD’s blessings:
The grain, the wine, and the oil,
the sheep and the oxen."

(Jeremiah 31:11-12)

"You know nothing,
nor do you consider that it is better for you
that one man should die instead of the people,
so that the whole nation may not perish."

(John 11:49b-50)

Every now and then the tension that lies at the center of the Catholic faith impresses itself upon us in an unmistakeable manner.

God will redeem his people!
But, he will have to die in order to do it!

When this happens, "Don't miss the tension!"

I'm going to make viewing The Passion of the Christ a Good Friday tradition for me and mine.

Not a bad idea, Chad.

When The Passion of the Christ was first released my wife and I did not allow our two daughters to view it. Our oldest saw it during Holy Week last year. Our youngest will view as a part of our Holy Week celebration this year.
